What are the technical Prerequisites using net-conference?

net-conference supports the following Microsoft® Windows® versions: 2000 (Service Pack 4 or above), XP Vista and 7. Additionally Microsoft® DirectX® Version 9.1 or higher is required. Your PC should at least have a processor of 300 MHz and 64MB of available RAM.

What is the bandwidth utilisation?

The required bandwidth directly depends on the way net-conference is used. For a pure audio and video session a regular ISDN connection is generally sufficient. Should you additionally use Application or Desktop Sharing the available bandwidth should be more than ISDN. net-conference incorporates a proactive bandwidth management that assures that even in lower bandwidth environments session can be performed at best possible quality.

What is to be regarded when you access the Internet via a firewall?

net-conference automatically detects the network environment you are utilising. This means that net-conference automatically detects your Proxy and Firewall environment. Should this not be possible you can manually define the way net-conference connects to the net-conference Server (in this case please consult your network administrator for the respective information).

How is a connection to the net-conference server performed?

net-conference uses the TCP/IP protocol. The different connection methods are: (i) direct connection (using TCP ports 10090 and 10102 to 10109) and (ii) tunneling (using TCP port 80 or 443). The connection method is by default chosen automatically. If necessary you can define manually how net-conference will connect to the server. Additionally any communication can be performed encrypted using SSL.

How do I configure my audio and video?

After installation of the net-conference client on your PC an Audio and Video Wizard is started automatically. This wizard assists you in adjusting your audio- and video-settings. Should you require to use the wizard at a later stage it can be found in the Help-menu within the net-conference client.
